StateTrace Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 20, 2026

Summary

StateTrace is local-first. It does not use analytics, tracking, advertising, or a backend server.

Data Stored Locally

When you explicitly capture a UI state, StateTrace stores the selected page URL, page title, selected element metadata, selector hints, bounding box, computed style subset, text excerpt, notes, tags, and optional screenshot crop in chrome.storage.local on your device.

Data Transmission

StateTrace does not transmit captured page content, screenshots, notes, URLs, or metadata to any StateTrace server. No StateTrace backend exists for this MVP.

Payments

StateTrace uses ExtensionPay for Pro payment and account restore flows. Payment processing is handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe. StateTrace stores only local payment status cache such as paid/not paid and account email when provided by ExtensionPay.

User Control

You can export or clear StateTrace data from the options page at any time. Removing the extension may also remove locally stored extension data according to Chrome behavior.
